Introduce the Essay. Whether you write your introduction first, last or somewhere in between, you should return to it and check that it matches the content of the essay. Some students who enrol in university studies have difficulties with their writing skills. Start your introduction broad, but not too broad.
If you are having trouble with your intro, feel free to write some, or all, of your body paragraphs, and then come back to it. Good ways to convince your reader that your essay is worthwhile is to provide information that the reader might question or disagree with.
It may mean providing a brief overview of events or a summary of the text you'll be analyzing.
Here's an example. Provide a thesis. The thesis statement often takes the form of a strong argument for a particular position.
